Purchase and activate AIChessGM
AIChessGM 1.000 is available now. Follow the purchase link at aichessgm.com, or open AIChessGM → Settings → License and select Purchase. Complete the Lemon Squeezy checkout and keep your receipt and license key. If Purchase is unavailable in an older preview build, use the website.
- Open AIChessGM → Settings → License.
- Paste the license key from your Lemon Squeezy receipt.
- Select Activate. The first activation needs an internet connection.
- Use Refresh License Status if the app asks you to confirm an existing activation.
If activation does not work, keep the exact message visible and email it with your order number to support@aichessgm.com. Do not email payment-card details or third-party API keys.
What the commercial license includes
- Price: $100 USD as a one-time purchase, plus any tax applied by the merchant of record.
- License holder: one named individual.
- Computers: up to two Macs activated at the same time.
- Updates: all AIChessGM 1.x updates.
- Future major versions: AIChessGM 2.x or later is not included in the 1.x promise and may be a paid upgrade.
The purchase does not include optional third-party AI usage, cloud-compute time, remote servers, paid chess data, or other provider accounts.
How does the trial work?
A new eligible production installation receives a 30-day trial beginning with its first eligible launch. Installing an update or deleting ordinary preferences does not start a new trial.
Existing preview users keep the expiry already shown by their current test build. Check AIChessGM → Settings → License → Trial ends for your expiry. A successful paid activation replaces the trial state immediately.
What happens when my trial ends?
Without a paid activation, AIChessGM enters Restricted mode. Your local chess files are not deleted: you can still open, view, and export them. Editing chess data and scratch positions, engine analysis, AI actions, training, and generated-media features require an active trial or paid license.
You can still open License Settings to purchase and activate a license. Successful activation restores the paid features without rebuilding your databases or repertoires. Activating before expiry lets paid access take over immediately.
Can I use one license on two Macs?
Yes. One named license holder can keep two Macs activated concurrently. The license is not a family, team, classroom, or organization license and should not be shared with another person.
How do I move an activation to a replacement Mac?
- On the old Mac, open AIChessGM → Settings → License.
- Select Deactivate This Mac.
- Install AIChessGM on the replacement Mac and activate it with the same key.
If the old Mac is lost, damaged, erased, or otherwise unavailable, email support@aichessgm.com with the purchase email or order number. We can assist with provider-side activation recovery after verifying the order.
What does “activation limit reached” mean?
The license already has two active Macs. It does not mean the key is invalid. Deactivate a Mac you no longer use, or contact support if an old Mac cannot be reached.
Can I use AIChessGM offline?
Yes. During the first 30 days after activation, a successful confirmation provides a seven-day offline grace period. AIChessGM normally attempts validation no more than once per 24 hours, and the check is designed not to block startup.
After Lemon Squeezy successfully confirms the license at least 30 days after activation, that Mac receives durable offline access. Later connection failures—including the licensing service becoming unavailable—do not remove paid capabilities. Only an explicit provider response that the license was refunded, disabled, or revoked can end the paid entitlement.
Durable access protects Macs that have already qualified. Activating or replacing a Mac still requires the licensing service while it is available.
What is Restricted mode?
Restricted mode protects access to your chess work after a trial expires or a paid entitlement ends. It preserves your ability to open, view, and export local chess data. You can still:
- open and view local chess data;
- export your local data;
- use Help and License Settings; and
- activate, refresh, deactivate, or contact support.
Premium mutations, scratch editing, engine and AI actions, training, and generated-media actions require an active trial or paid entitlement. The License pane shows the current capability list generated from the app’s central policy.
I lost my license key. What should I do?
Check the receipt sent to the email address used at Lemon Squeezy checkout. If it is not available, contact support@aichessgm.com from that address and include the order number if you have it.
What is the refund policy?
You can request a full refund within 30 calendar days of purchase, with no explanation required. See the Refund Policy for the request steps and what happens to the license afterward.
What licensing information is sent?
Activation and validation send the provider-issued license key and a random installation or provider-instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy. AIChessGM does not create a hardware fingerprint and does not send your chess databases for licensing.
